PCCBS Annual Meeting, March 22-24, 2019, Merced, CA

The Pacific Coast Conference on British Studies will hold its 46th Annual Meeting, to be held on the campus of UC Merced, in Merced, CA, March 22-24, 2019.

Lodging: Hotel rooms have been held at the Courtyard Marriott hotel in Merced, 750 Motel Drive, Merced, 209-725-221, at the rate of $119 a night.   Participants can book online using the code BSCBSCK or call the Courtyard and ask for the British Studies Conference Room Block with UC Merced.

Getting to Merced: Merced is about 120 miles east of San Francisco, 70 miles west of Yosemite National Park. It is served by Amtrak trains running from Oakland and Bakersfield. It is also served by Boutique Airlines, a small airline that flies from LA and (once a day) from Oakland.   Other air connections are through Fresno, some 60 mile south of Merced, an hour’s drive.  Fresno is served by all major airlines, and can be reached from any hub west of Dallas.

Parking:   On Friday, we will book spaces for those who request them in the Bellevue Lot.

Faculty/employed:                 $100 ($120 after March 8)

Students/unemployed          $50 ($60 after March 8)

Saturday Lunch                      $25

Graduate students traveling from more than 200 miles away are eligible for up to $200 in travel expenses courtesy of the Stern Family Foundation.  Those funds will be paid out after the conference.
